This is my personal website. I serve as the chairperson of Finance & Accounting Area and Associate Professor of Finance at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), specializing in real estate. At IIMA, I am a member of the Centre for Management in Agriculture, the Misra Center of Financial Markets, Center for Incubation of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE)
and the Center for Transportation and Logistics.
I research real estate decisions of institutions and households, mortgage financing and securitization (RMBS, CMBS), real estate investment trusts (REIT), agricultural land, and hotel assets.
I developed two national-level price indices for India: (1) AgriLand Pricing and (2) Modern Art Pricing.
I am an associate editor of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate (Taylor & Francis, UK) and serve on the editorial boards of the Journal of Property Research (Taylor & Francis, UK), and the Journal of Hospitality Financial Management (Taylor & Francis, UK).
Earlier, I served as an Associate Professor, and the acting Director of Real Estate, Finance & Economics (REFE) Institute at EHL Lausanne, Switzerland. At EHL, I served on the Academic Board beyond teaching Master’s and Bachelor’s level courses in real estate finance, valuation, and investment.
I have been a visiting faculty at various universities in the US, China, and Romania; and an executive education consultant in India, Switzerland and the UK.
I earned my Ph.D. (Business/ Real Estate) from Georgia State University, Atlanta; an M.S. (Land Development) from Texas A&M University (College Station, USA) and my B.S. (Architecture) from IIT Roorkee (India). Earlier, I served in managerial and engineering roles with several firms/organizations including HCL Infosystems Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services.
